i think for security reason such options are blocked

How valuable is it in today’s economy for my business to have it’s own mobile Application for all smart phones, mobile website and sms sending system to market and promote my business?
Is mobile advertising worthwhile, will my business benefit from mobile marketing or is it just hype?

I’m interested in hearing people’s thoughts are about moving off of Blackberry and on to iOS, Android, or even the new Windows mobile OS.
I know it all depends on what I do on my phone, so here’s my usage pattern. Heavy on email, calendar, and web browsing. Not so big on SMS. Probably on Facebook & Twitter only once a month (if that), and don’t have many apps. I also believe that my usage pattern is influenced by the limited capabilities on my blackberry, afterall it’s considered a corporate device. But I have also been noticing a lot of colleagues using iOS or Android, so Blackberry seems to be losing ground on the corporate scene too. RIM’s recent guidance correction and planned layoffs is probably indicative of their loss of market share.
Blackberry just doesn’t seem to be able to catch up with the pace of iOS or Android. So any thoughts of which other platform to move to? Any specific devices? My current contract is about to expire, and I’m using this opportunity to move to another device, just don’t know which one.
Thank you very much to those who have responded. Any suggestions in terms of android device? As for the iPhone, is it worth waiting for iPhone 5?

i use to chat and send atleast 200 sms a day, travel around a lot so love to take pics more often. and im a mobile savvy so will push the phone to its extent, close and open apps very often so i dont want the mob to hang or take more time to process.
the main features im looking for are:
1. touchscreen
2. good camera with flash
3. fast processing speed
4. no hiccups and/or hanging.
5. would be better if its not a slide phone nor with windows os. cos i tried it in O2 and didnt like it.
i narrowed down to the mentioned phones. also suggest me any other good ones in the market within 25k.

I’m planning to organise a promotion on a local readio station in respect to the Valentine’s Day celebration.
I’m yet to meet with a cocoa processing company to a sponsor the promo by giving away hampers as prizes comprising of some the cocoa products they manufacture and at the same time, as the promo runs on air, their company and their products will be marketed by means of live mentions.
I also want to get one of the top bakeries to give chocolate cakes as prizes.
The promo is going to be an SMS based competition and entry is not going to be resticted to a particular network but to four different mobile networks operating in the country. Subscribers will have the chance to answer questions via SMS as many times as possible. All correct entries will be entered into a draw and winners will be picked at random. Nonetheless, the tarrif on the SMS short code shall be approximately USc 3.0 and revenue accrued at the end of the promo will be split amongst the parties involved.

add in who the target is, how many of them can be reached, do some research on their relevance to the potential clients you want to approach and liklihood of eating chocolate, add an online component so people can enter who dont want to deal with or have SMS capable phones, add the above and you are good to go.
